Condom
Made famous by the Etienne Chatilliez film Le Bonheur est dans le Pré, Condom is the archetypal Gersois town. A pearl, architecturally speaking, the tourist office is in a medieval building, the town hall has a 16th century cloister, the police station is in the 17th century bishops palace. Oh, and the school is in a beautiful private house 18th century.
The town is ideally situated on the Baïse river, which was used formerly to deliver goods via barge.
Condom is a production centre for Armagnac, and there is an Armagnac museum. There are also many different addresses where one can sample the magic liquid

And there is the inevitable condom museum too, which may be worth a visit if you find the town name amusing.
Dont miss the fortifications of Larressingle, a marvellous 13th century village a few kilometres away.
