Lautrec

If you looked hard enough at Toulouse-Lautrec’s family tree, you’d surely find a few founding fathers of this village, but the main reason to come here is less cultural, and more culinary: it’s Garlic. OK, it may make your breath smell, but any grandmother will tell you that it’s great for the circulation. Go to the Lautrec market every Friday from July to March, to buy local pink garlic.

While you’re here, go to the Salette windmill, it’s recently been restored to working condition by a carpenter. The view is brilliant too, the hills of Lacaune and the Black Mountain are clearly visible.
