It’s a town well known for…its melon production. Historically, it was taken by Blaise de Monluc during the wars of Religion. It has an excellent museum of gallo-roman artefacts, which also contains a few curious objects such as a mammoth tooth. It’s also well known throughout Europe for its pastel production.
